September 27, 1935 ~ October 30, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years OldAUSTINTOWN - Richard F. Driscoll, 82, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, Oct. 30, 2017, at his home.
Richard was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Mary Tribby Driscoll, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Driscoll was a graduate of Wilson High School, and served in the U.S. Army. After his service in the military, Richard graduated from barber school and worked as a barber at Ernie’s Barber Shop on Steel Street in Youngstown in the 1960s and 70s. He later worked for many years at the Seven Up Bottling Company, from where he retired.
Mr. Driscoll’s wife of 54 years, Helena M. “Lee” Bucci Driscoll, whom he married Feb. 23, 1963, passed away July 12, 2017. Richard enjoyed spending time with his wife, especially during their travels, and he also enjoyed the time spent with his nieces and nephews.
Richard leaves his brother, Donald (Nancy) Driscoll of Poland; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his wife, six brothers, twins William and Robert, James P., John Emmet, and two infant brothers, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, at the funeral home, and will continue with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Rd., Austintown.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Richard will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, in memory of Richard’s late wife, Helena, who recently passed away under hospice care.
