Ramona L. "Mona" Deak

MCDONALD - Ramona L. “Mona” Deak, 64, passed away Saturday morning, May 21, 2016, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. 

Ramona was born May 8, 1952, in Youngstown, a daughter of Elmer and Ramona Thompson Wade, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mona was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and worked for 13 years at Easco, and later worked at Delphi for 22 years retiring in 2006.

Mrs. Deak operated her own business, Mona’s Designs, where she created Williamsburg fruit arrangements. She had and eye for design and detail, and she greatly enjoyed decorating and shopping. Mona especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Ramona leaves her husband of 33 years, Gregory Deak, whom she married April 30, 1983; two children, Michael Deak of Niles and Michelle Woloschak of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Michael and Gillian Deak, and Summer and Michael Woloschak; her mother, Ramona Wade; four sisters, Gretchen Wade of Youngstown, Linda Seaman of Youngstown, Marilyn Wade of Poland, and Sharon Wade of Austintown; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including her niece, Mona, who was always like another daughter to her.

Her father, Elmer; a brother, Richard Wade; a nephew, Adam Wade; and a son-in-law, Michael Woloschak, preceded Mona in death.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m.
