Jolanna Melissa "Boomer" Butler

YOUNGSTOWN - Jolanna Melissa “Boomer” Butler, 37, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016.

Jolanna was born May 22, 1979, in Warren, a daughter of John Lewis and Sabrena Santha Butler, and was a 1997 graduate of Chaney High School.

Jolanna was a daycare teacher and was a member of Metro Assembly on South Avenue.  
She enjoyed cooking, being with her family, and attending her children’s sporting events.

Jolanna leaves eight children, Destiny, twins Serena and Kiya, Stephen, Leora, Alvin Jr., Da’Rius, and Lyric; her mother, Sabrena Butler Grantling; her fiancé, Alvin Sims, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Amir Butler, Oleeka Butler, Lamar Butler (Angela) , Daniel Butler (Ty’Sha), Julia (Armando) Avalos, Jamie Butler (Raymond), Hope Butler, and Dontae (Tammy); her grandfather, Steven (Sally) Santha; her future in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Sims; many extended family members; and many friends.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.

Jolanna’s family offers special thanks to Frank Foster, aunt Brenda, aunt Sandy, uncle Cheetah, aunt Linda, and Karrie Howard.

Due to Jolanna’s sudden passing, in lieu of flowers, Jolanna’s family would be grateful if memorial contributions would be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
