AUSTINTOWN - Dorothy A. Gasior, 89, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2016, at Briarfield Manor in Austintown, after a long and fulfilling life.

Dorothy was born March 21, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Earl C. and Margaret Vitkovsky Gilbert, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1945 graduate of Scienceville High School and worked for eight years at the General Electric Mazda Lamp Plant, during and after World War II. She then became a loving wife and homemaker who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family.

Mrs. Gasior was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing, reading, sewing, and was a very good artist. Dorothy enjoyed decorating her home for every holiday, and was known for her delicious kolachi.

Her husband of 52 years, Stanley D. Gasior, whom she married Oct. 30, 1948, passed away Aug. 31, 2001.
    
Dorothy leaves four children, Deborah (Louis) Posterli of Austintown, Cynthia Ciriaco of Reading, Pa., James (Tina Marie) Gasior of Canfield, and Richard (Carol) Gasior of Hermitage, Pa.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Dunfee, Christopher (Missy) Posterli, and Kole, Joey, and Gabriella Gasior; a brother-in-law, Cas Gasior of Austintown; and her faithful canine companion, Riley.
    
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Posterli; a sister, Elizabeth Gilbert Camilli; a son-in-law, Dr. Michael Ciriaco; a brother-in-law, Joseph Gasior; and a sister-in-law, Stella Yacono.

Family and friends may gather from 10 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Norquest Boulevard in Austintown, and are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Committal services will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
