SALEM - Ronald C. Fashion, 70, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, May 31, 2016, at Essex of Salem, with his wife by his side, following a lengthy illness.
Ronald was born Sept. 14, 1945, in Youngstown, a son of the late Charles and Anna Katros Fashion, and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1963 graduate of East High School, Ronald also attended Youngstown State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served from 1966 to 1968 in Vietnam.
Ronald worked for Conrail, and later as an independent truck driver. Ronald was a member of St. Paul Church in Salem, the Slovak Club, and the American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting, dwarf car racing, and was an avid fan of NASCAR. He was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his wife of almost 26 years, Daryle L. May Fashion, whom he married Aug. 24, 1990; four children, Kristie (Kenny) Oles of Lake Milton, Ronald “RC” Fashion Jr. (Stephanie Fedor) of Lake Milton, Adrienne (Bob) Leiendecker of Charlestown, Ohio, and Michael (Tina) Filbert of Salem; a granddaughter, Kaylen Oles; and the family dog, Lacey.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2016, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 7 p.m.
A committal service with military honors will take place Tuesday, June 7, at 12:30 p.m., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
