I just learned today of Pete's passing and want to send my condolences to his family. Although he didn't really need any lessons, Pete was in my art class at the senior center for 15 years and it was such a pleasure having him there. He was a wonderful painter and we all loved him. Pete was an inspiration to all of us. All who knew him will miss him. R.I.P dear friend.
From your art teacher,
Shirl

Dear Betty,
I am so sorry to read about your father's passing. You and I were high school friends. Hopefully, you remember. I've moved back to the area with my husband. Would love to stay in touch. When things have settled down, please email me at bleamingco@gmail.com. I am also on Facebook. Hoping the great memories of your talented father bring you comfort. Bonnie

He was truly an Amazing Person, and Neighbor too. I was lucky to have viewed some of his oil paintings, and told him personally how truly gifted he was. I admired his sense of humor too. Pete, I was so sorry to read of your father's passing. He was quite an artist and I bought one of his paintings. May God bring you comfort.

Betty ,
I'm sorry to read about your dad"s passing . I always liked your dad & mom . Were ( as were my parents ) a part of the dwindling great generation that grew up expecting nothing that they didn't earn through hard work . My parents have also both passed . My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family .

Dear Peter, Betty and family,

I was saddened to hear about the passing of your dear father, grandfather and father-in-law. I have a lot of memories of Big Pete and Stella. They were such good friends to my Mom and Dad and I know they spent many evenings together playing Tripoly and laughing and having a good time. I remember meeting him in, of all places, the Ukrainian cemetery, where he invited me to sit on the bench by Stella's grave. I also remember that you were never sure of what he would say next. He was funny, but truthful. I'm sure you all have many memories if him, too. May his soul rest in peace and may you have Memories Eternal.

Love & Prayers,
Cousin Joan

My condolences to your entire family at the passing of Mr. Balaban. I knew him from the painting classes at The Manor, where Mr. Balaban was a star, with his obvious talent. As time went on, and he was less able to participate, he would still sit near us to soak up the atmosphere! Often he would say, "you look just like my sister."

Sometimes he was irascible, sometimes pensive, mostly pleasant, and always talented. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to be his teacher for several years. I am sorry for your loss.
