Michael J. Latiano

GIRARD - Michael J. Latiano, 66, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 13, 2016, at Omni Manor in Youngstown, from complications of a stroke he suffered five years ago.

Michael was born June 28, 1950, in Ellwood City, Pa., a son of the late Edward and Alice Bea Lathrum Latiano, and was raised by his father and mother, Emma Latiano. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1968, and graduated with a degree from Kent State University. He later earned a masters degree in philosophy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

Mike settled in Girard in the early 1990s, and worked as a painter for various local contractors.

He enjoyed music, especially composing and playing.

He leaves his son, Michael J. Latiano of Girard; his mother, Emma of Ellwood City; a brother, James (Adele Laffey) Latiano of Malvern, Pa.; a nephew, Jonathan Latiano; and a niece, Lisa Latiano.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
