Marilyn Vuletich
March 5, 1951 ~ November 8, 2016 (age 65) 65 Years OldYOUNGSTOWN – Marilyn Vuletich, 65, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, with her three children by her side.
Marilyn was born March 5, 1951, in Youngstown, a daughter of Sam and Josephine Gonda Vuletich.
She graduated from Chaney High School and Up With People, class of 1969. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a B.S. degree in Nursing in 1974 and worked as an RN in Ohio and Florida. She also developed and administered one of the first eldercare homecare programs in the United States, for Mt. Sinai Hospital in North Miami Beach, Fla. She returned to Ohio and worked as a RN for the Ohio Department Area on Aging Passport Program.
Marilyn was a member of St. Christine Church and was an active member in Seniors, TOPS, and the Ursuline Motherhouse water aerobics class.
She loved to travel, sing, paint, and enjoyed gardening and photography. She was very passionate about spending her time with her grandchildren. Her most recent hobbies were learning to fence, playing the ukulele, and winemaking.
Marilyn leaves three children, Mike (Lacey) Barahona of Columbus, Melissa Barahona (Scott Mehle) of Poland, and Mark Barahona of North Carolina; grandchildren, Aden, Alaina, and Sedona; siblings, Stan Vuletich of Berlin Center, Karen (Willis) Vuletich Woods of Billings, Mont., Sandra Vuletich of Youngstown, and Sam (Tammie) Vuletich of Berlin Center; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather for a celebration of life from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, with Memorial Mass to be follow at 11 a.m.
