Gloria J. Hlinka

AUSTINTOWN - Gloria J. Hlinka, 78, passed away early Friday afternoon, Jan. 29, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, from a broken heart suffered after the passing of her husband of nearly 59 years.

Gloria was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Albert and Marietta LaGuardia Inhouse, was raised in the Brier Hill neighborhood of the city, graduated from Chaney High School, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother who deeply loved and cared for her family. Gloria will always be remembered as a peacemaker who was loved by all who knew her, and she will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Hlinka was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown. 

Her loving husband, Joseph T. Hlinka, whom she married Sept. 3, 1955, passed away June 29, 2014.

Gloria leaves her son, Joseph R. Hlinka of Austintown; her sister, Doris (Russell) Layfield of Austintown; her brother, Richard (Julie) Inhouse of North Lima; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Feb. 5, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4700 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, and are welcome to stay for a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at noon.

Gloria will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
