YOUNGSTOWN - Frank J. Belcik, 83, of the city’s west side, passed away Saturday morning, May 14, 2016, at Vista Center of Boardman.

Frank was born Jan. 19, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Anna Dobransky Belcik, and was a lifelong area resident.

He attended Chaney High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. Frank was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, and was a paratrooper and a recipient of the National Defense Medal.

After his military service, he worked in the steel mills in Youngstown for a short time and then became a City of Youngstown Firefighter.

He was a highly skilled and passionate golfer, and he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church in Youngstown.

Frank’s wife of 60 years, Eleanor Baluch Belcik, passed away Jan. 1, 2015.

Mr. Belcik leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Roberta Joseph, Franciene (Steve) Wagner, and Sandra (Sid) Dabir of Michigan; his son, Frank (Erika) Belcik; two grandsons, Eric Joseph and Nicholas Belcik; a sister, Bernice (Steve) Senvisky; a brother, Robert Belcik; and sisters-in-law, Delphine and Carole.

Besides his wife, two brothers, John and Richard Belcik, and a son-in-law, Peter Joseph, are deceased.

Per Frank’s wishes, there are no services or calling hours. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Frank will be laid to rest with his wife.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Belcik’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
