AUSTINTOWN - Zouhair Rached Tabbara, 80, passed away early Friday afternoon, Jan. 1, 2021, at Austintown Health Care Center.
Zouhair was born Nov. 28, 1940, in Beirut, Lebanon, and was the son of the late Rached Tabbara and Lawahez Chaban Tabbara. Zouhair came to America and this area as a young man of 21.
Mr. Tabbara graduated with a bachelors and a masters degree in engineering and architecture from Youngstown State University, and was an architect by profession.
The resilience of Zouhair, aka "Zuzu," to adversity inspired all those he crossed paths with. Zuzu was a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather, and he always expressed the sincerest empathy for human nature. Zuzu was a true Angel on earth, and he will be missed more than words can convey.
Zouhair leaves two children, Rached Tabbara and Khaled Tabbara; his wife, Patricia; a grandson, Rowan; four sisters, Hoda Tabbara Rouweyha, Souad Mohsen, Nada Ladki, and Salma Mawlawi; a brother-in-law, Dr. Marwan Rouweyha; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Mona Tabbara Al-Moamin, is deceased.
A religious service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at Masjid Al-Khair (Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown). An interment service will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
