He was a 1965 graduate of Chaney High School and Choffin Career Center, where he learned skills in auto mechanics. Following graduation, Steve proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.

Following his military service, Steve embarked on a successful career as an electrician, retiring from Ohio Edison, now First Energy.

Some of the concerts he attended included Peter White, Gordon Lightfoot, Bruce Springsteen. Steve Miller Band, Judy Collins, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Barry Manilow, and Bruce Springsteen.

A lifelong learner, he was an avid reader who enjoyed delving into various subjects.
