Sandra K. "Sandy" Arden

AUSTINTOWN - Sandra K. “Sandy” Arden, 74, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 27, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

Sandy was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Chesapeake, W.Va, and was a daughter of the late Charles and Helen Moore Jarrell. She was a 1964 graduate of East Bank High School in West Virginia, and came to this area shortly after her graduation.

After her marriage in 1965, Sandy became a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family.

She was a member of Youngstown Baptist Church on New Road. She enjoyed going to church, singing, cooking, sewing, gardening, reading, going to garage sales, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Sandy leaves her husband of almost 56 years, James E. Arden Jr., whom she married Jan. 29, 1965; her daughter, Charlene L. (Gene) Johnson of Youngstown; her son, James M. (Jennifer) Arden of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Courtney Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Erin Johnson, and Elijah Arden; two great-grandchildren, Coen and Callie; and a sister, Sue (Gary) Walker of Austintown. 

Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.  If paying respects to the family or attending the service, please follow all current social distancing guidelines and health protocols. To those who cannot attend the visitation or service, or are uncomfortable doing so at this time, please keep and Sandy and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Committal services will take place at Brunstetter Cemetery in Austintown.
