AUSTINTOWN - Ronald M. Lombel, 69, passed away Sunday evening, April 14, 2019, at his home after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Ronald was born July 31, 1949, in Youngstown, and was a son of the late Morris and Mary Lombel. He was a 1966 graduate of Wilson High School and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Lombel proudly served in the U.S. Army after graduating from high school, and was stationed in Korea. Ron worked in various fields during his work life, and was employed by Miller Trucking and Phoenix Electric. He was also part-owner of K&L Compressors.
He was of the Catholic faith. Ron loved the water and outdoors, enjoying camping, boating, and fishing.
Ron leaves the love of his life, Phyllis Lombel; his son, Matthew Lombel of Cincinnati; his daughter, Bonnie Lombel of Austintown; three grandchildren, Allysia, Austin, and Marcus; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Peggy Pruszkowski of Arlington, Va.; a sister-in-law, Colleen Solinger of Austintown; several nieces and nephews; his good friend, Brenda Binder; and his best friend, Buddy Brody.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., today, Wednesday, April 17, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, and committal services will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
