Paul Limongi Obituary

BOARDMAN - Paul L. Limongi, formerly of the city’s west side, passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon, March 25, 2024, at Hospice House with his family by his side.

Paul was born November 21, 1935, in Niles, a son of Louis H. Limongi and Mafalda Gonella Limongi and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1953 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and following graduation, Paul bravely served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Korea following the war.

Upon his return from the Army, Paul pursued his passion for barbering by attending Cleveland Barber College, graduating in the late 1950s. He then dedicated over six decades of his life to his profession as a barber, serving his community with skill and warmth. He was a familiar face at his barbershop, where he forged lasting friendships with his customers, enjoying both the art of his trade and the camaraderie it brought.

Mr. Limongi was a member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown, where his faith was a guiding light in his life and he found joy and solace in his spiritual community.

Beyond his professional and religious commitments, Paul was a man of many interests and talents. An avid sports enthusiast, he cheered passionately for his beloved Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, finding joy in the thrill of the game. He was also a fan of the Chaney Cowboys and the Niles Red Dragons.

His love for music led him to pursue his passion for playing the trumpet, gracing local jazz bands with his talent in his younger years. His music brought joy to many and added yet another dimension to his vibrant personality.

Paul's dedication to physical fitness was evident in his commitment to regular exercise, a routine he embraced with enthusiasm throughout his life. He cherished the moments spent engaging in sports and activities, fostering connections with others through his shared love of athleticism.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Amy Limongi Pollice of Boardman; his son, Paul J. (Aimee) Limongi of Omaha, Nebraska; three granddaughters, Allyson (Spencer) Reed, Cecilia Limongi and Sophia Limongi; a great-granddaughter, Aria Sophia Reed; two brothers, Louis (Ruth) Limongi of Brookfield and Jim (Terri) Limongi of West Palm Beach, FL and a sister, Catherine Cera of Niles.
