AUSTINTOWN - Paul Orvis Keslar, 94, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 14, 2024, at Austinwoods after a long and fulfilling life.
Paul was born April 14, 1929, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Earl and Dorothy Shankosky Keslar and relocated to the Youngstown area in the 1950's.
A proud veteran, Paul served in the United States Army stationed in Germany from 1948 to 1951. Following his return from service, he dedicated many years of his life to diligent work. Paul held various roles, notably at Youngstown Welding, Benada, and Easco Aluminum, until his retirement in 1980.
Paul was a man of diverse interests and passions. He found solace and joy in farm work, cherished moments on the dance floor, had a fondness for collecting antique bikes, and delighted in watching western movies and wrestling. However, above all else, Paul treasured spending time with his beloved family
Mr. Keslar is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Mincher Kukucka Keslar whom he married March 8, 1964; his seven children, John (Donna) Keslar of Punxsutawney, PA, Paula (William) Slusher of Struthers, Paul (Nancy) Keslar of Hubbard, Mary Cominsky (John Starasinic) of Austintown, Margaret Bennett of Virginia Beach, Theresa (Joseph) Fekety of Austintown and Donna (David) Crites of Austintown; 12 grandchildren, Anita, Candace, Jacquelyn, Amanda, Heather, Jamie, Kayla, Nicole, Joseph, Katie, Marsha and David; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many extended family members.
His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
Paul was preceded in death by a son, William Earl Keslar, a grandson, Thomas Bennett and three siblings, Ethel Bernstein, Earl Keslar Jr., and William Keslar.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday March 18, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown.
In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the patient activities fund at Austinwoods 4789 Kirk Rd., Austintown, Oh 44515.
