Paul Dennis Deak

AUSTINTOWN - Paul Dennis Deak 82, passed away Thursday March 16, 2023, at his home of natural causes.

Paul, who was affectionately known as “Denny”,  was born May 22, 1940, in Youngstown, the son of the late Paul and Virginia Naughton Deak, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1958 graduate of Ursuline High School and proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962.

Paul worked at General Motors in Lordstown for 30 years, retiring in 1999.

Mr. Deak was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown.

He enjoyed vacationing in Florida with his loving wife, Jan. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of all Cleveland professional sports teams.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Janice Dougherty Deak whom he married March 24, 1989; his two children from a previous marriage, his son, Thomas M. Deak of Austintown, and his daughter, Sharyn (Dan) Thorpe of Goose Creek, SC; four grandchildren, Caitlin Thorpe, Tommy Deak, Morgan (John) Adams, and Alyssa Deak and a great granddaughter, Isabelle Adams.

Besides his parents, an infant son preceded Denny in death.

Per Denny’s request, there are no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
