YOUNGSTOWN - Patricia DeWan Strojek, 85, passed away peacefully early Wednesday evening, March 20, 2019, at Omni Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Salem, a daughter of the late Dennis and Dorothy Wildman DeWan, and was a lifelong area resident.
She worked for Easco Aluminum for 25 years, retiring in 1994.
Patricia was a member of Open Door Community Church in McDonald.
Mrs. Strojek enjoyed spending her time reading, and she sometimes finished three books a day.
Her husband of 46 years, John Strojek, whom she married June 10, 1950, passed away June 27, 1996.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her son, John Jr. (Naomi) Strojek of Little Rock, Ark.; three daughters, Diane Emerick of Martinsburg, W.Va., Suzanne (Thomas) Williams of Liberty Township, and LeeAnne Bowen of Unicoi, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Besides her husband, two brothers, James and Thomas DeWan; a sister, Mary Kato; and her beloved stepmother, Catherine DeWan, preceded Patricia in death.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 23, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will take place at noon.
Private interment will take place at Girard Union Cemetery, where Patricia will be laid to rest next to her husband.
