POLAND – Michael N. Senko, 54, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home, Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018.
Michael was born Feb. 21, 1964, in Youngstown, a son of the late Dmytro and Halya “Helen” Kramarenko Senko, and lived his life in the Youngstown area.
He attended Choffin Vocational Center and was a 1982 graduate of Chaney High School. Mike worked independently as a subcontractor for various local companies, and he worked for Mercy Health at the St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center in the environmental and maintenance department.
Mike was a very active member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown, volunteering for the church’s pyrohy, kolachi, and bread-baking fundraisers, along with being involved in many other church activities. He was strong in his faith, was a firm believer in God, and was a follower of Jesus Christ.
He was a 3rd Degree Deputy Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Marian Council No. 3813. Mike also volunteered as a worker for Girl Scout Troop No. 80493. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, enjoyed attending motorcycle and car shows, and he loved chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, and Diet Coke.
Mike leaves three daughters, Ashley Senko of Howland, Brittany Senko of Girard, and Courtney Senko of Niles; a granddaughter, Joselyn; two sisters, Mary (Mark) Wesolowsky and Leda (Nick) Kasnevich, both of Austintown; the love of his life, Brandy Jackson; two nephews, Mark Wesolowsky Jr. and Nickey Kasnevich Jr.; two nieces, Michelle Wesolowsky and Lisa Kasnevich; a great-niece, Ella; and many extended family members in America and in Ukraine.
Family and friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept, 20, at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church on the northeast corner of Kirk and Raccoon Roads in Austintown, where funeral services will take place at 11:30 a.m.
Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Mike with be laid to rest next to his parents.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
