GIRARD - Margareta “Marge” Muffley, 86, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday night, June 6, 2018, at her home.
Marge was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Treskowitz, Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Julius and Karolina Mueller Schenk, and came to the United States and Trumbull County after the Korean War.
Mrs. Muffley dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Muffley Service, Inc., a family-owned auto repair company.
Marge greatly enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Allen.
Her husband of 46 years, Harold K. Muffley, whom she married April 16, 1955, passed away Oct. 9, 2001.
Margareta leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Carmen (Ralph) Garnes of Alliance, Alma Isaac of Houston, Texas, Mary Thomsick of Austintown, and Marilyn (Jack) Gordon of Girard; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Hermann (Rita) Schenk of Germany; and two sisters, Adelheid Mohler of Switzerland and Aurelia Soggia of Italy.
Besides her husband, three brothers, Martin, Adolf, and Karl Schenk, preceded Marge in death.
Family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
Marge’s family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Rd., Canfield, OH 44406.
