MINERAL RIDGE - Linda Mae Henik, 71, passed away late Thursday morning, Jan. 9, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after becoming ill at home.
Linda was born Jan. 6, 1949, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late David H. Rosser and Nellie Jane Vitelli Rosser, and was a lifelong area resident.
Linda was a 1967 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. After her marriage in 1969, she became a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family, and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandsons.
A devout Catholic, Mrs. Henik was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown. She faithfully attended Sunday Mass and weekly novenas.
She enjoyed traveling, wineries, Florida vacations, coffee breaks, and attending her grandsons’ school activities. She also enjoyed attending the Silver Sneakers fitness program at the Eastwood Mall.
Linda leaves her husband of 50 years, Michael G. Henik, whom she married September 20, 1969; her daughter, Tricia L. (John) Carano of Canfield; her son, Michael D. (Irene) Henik of Ravenna; two grandsons, Anthony and Alex Carano of Canfield; and a sister, Beverly Hebering of Vernon Township.
A granddaughter, Jozelle Henik, is deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the funeral home, and will continue at 11:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Rd., Austintown.
Committal services will follow the Mass and will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s name to the Ursuline Sisters, 4250 Shields Rd., Canfield, OH 44406.
