Karen was born  December 4, 1952, in Youngstown, the beloved daughter of the late Regis and Ella Mae Wolf Hack and was a lifelong area resident.

Karen was a 1970 graduate of Chaney High School. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Youngstown State University, where she pursued her passion for nursing, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science degree in the field.

Karen's career as a registered nurse spanned many years, during which she served the community with dedication and compassion. Her contributions were felt profoundly at Northside Hospital and Tod Children’s Hospital, where she made a lasting impact on countless lives before her well-deserved retirement.

She also found joy and fulfillment in her creative pursuits, notably as a member of the singing group "Sing Out Youngstown," affiliated with the national organization, Up with People. Additionally, Karen was a skilled baker, and enjoyed baking delectable treats during the holidays with her nephews. Her talents extended to the realm of crafting, where she found camaraderie and friendship as a member of the "Knit Wits," a sewing and crocheting group.

Karen is survived by her four brothers, Roger (Darlene) Hack of Salem, Russell Hack of Westerly, Rhode Island, Richard (Kathleen) Hack of Sacramento, CA, and Robert (Lynn) Hack of New Springfield; four nephews and two grand nieces.
