GIRARD - Jordan William Baer, 29, passed away peacefully with his mom and dad by his side, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at the Cleveland Clinic after a long and brave battle with both heart disease and cancer.
Jordan was born to David and Lora Kelly Baer on April 10, 1990. He graduated with honors from Girard High School in 2008 and earned a bachelor's degree in Graphics Design from The Pittsburgh Art Institute.
He was passionate about computers, video games, and his friends and family. Jordan was an intelligent, witty soul, often gentle and caring. In 2010, he received a heart and lung transplant. He carried himself with dignity and strength throughout two battles with lymphoma, this recent one being his last. He will be remembered for his courage, determination, and strength in the face of his challenges.
Jordan leaves his parents, David and Lora of Girard; his brother, Brandon Baer and Brandon’s partner, Nicole Banyots of Girard; Brandon's children, niece, Arianna Baer and nephew, Giovanni Baer, both of Girard; an aunt, Debra Kelly of Niles; an uncle, James (Carol) Baer of Alexandria, Ind.; a cousin, Matthew (Sabrina) Baer of Alexandria; a cousin, Melissa Kelly and her partner, Steve Cook; Melissa and Steve’s children, Kayla and Mackenzie Cook; a cousin, Kristopher (April) Isler, and their daughter, Mila Isler; cousins, Andrea Baer of Tennessee and Leslie Baer of the Washington D.C. area; a cousin, Nicholas Baer of Illinois; and best friends, Jessica Egner and John Wells of Austintown, and Sarah Flatters of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by uncles, Richard Kelly and Richard Baer; his paternal grandparents, Delano and Doris Baer; and maternal grandparents, Richard and Shirley Kelly.
Jordan will be dearly missed and will be a constant inspiration for others, as he fought for years with the spirit of a true warrior. "Death leaves behind a hole, a burden to fill, loving the lost is the only cure for such ills; One day we'll meet again, but until then, I will miss you greatly, my sweet friend. You've left a mark on our world, one unable to be matched nor filled.” “Is breat lion tu ar fud an domhain.” (I love you the world over).
