Joanne Miles

YOUNGSTOWN - Joanne Miles, 63, passed away Tuesday morning, May 11, 2021, at Beeghly Oaks in Boardman following a very brief illness.

Joanne was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Youngstown, and was a daughter of the late Charles and Joanne Thoreson Miles. She graduated from Chaney High School in 1975, and lived her life in this area.

Joanne attended Choffin School of Nursing and graduated as an Licensed Practical Nurse in 1990. She worked as an LPN at Omni Manor Nursing Home, at Austinwoods Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, at Ivy Woods Manor, and also in home healthcare, retiring in 2020.

She loved coffee and visiting Pymatuning Lake, and she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Joanne leaves to cherish her memory her son, Frank Jr. (Carie) Silver; two daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Polombi of North Lima and Ashley (Dylan) Halladay of Canfield; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Anthony, Colin, Cadance, Alexander, Mia, and Ensley; and two brothers, Charles (Tammy) Miles of Cortland and Scott Miles of Youngstown.

Besides her parents, her former husband, Frank Silver, to whom she was married to for 20 years; her companion of nine years, Michael Koval; and an infant sister, Darlene Miles, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m., Monday, May 17, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m.. If attending the visitation or service, please be mindful of current health protocols and social distancing guidelines.
