YOUNGSTOWN - Joanne T. Best, 89, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Nov. 13, 2021, at Hospice House in North Lima.
Joanne was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Youngstown, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Martinko Pekarcik.
Joanne was a longtime resident of Youngstown and graduated from Ursuline High School. She spent several years of her life also living in Florida and in Oklahoma.
She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker who enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Joanne was a member of the St. Brendan Church in Youngstown.
Her husband of nearly 49 years, James H. Best, whom she married June 28, 1950, passed away June 2, 1999.
Mrs. Best is survived by two daughters, Lynn M. Best and Rita Evans, both of Austintown; three sons, James H. (Karen) Best of Powell, Bradley M. (Sally) Best of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Michael P. Best, with whom she shared her home; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, two brothers Phillip and Joseph Pekarcik, are deceased.
There are no calling hours and private committal with take place on Friday, Nov. 19, and will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
