YOUNGSTOWN- Jane B. Lopatta, 78, passed away Friday afternoon, August 25, 2023, at Hospice House with her family by her side.
Jane who was affectionately known as Janie, was born February 24, 1945, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Mary Mochtak Rovnak and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1963 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family.
Jane was a member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown.
Janie was a voracious reader and always considered a great book the best thing in the world. She loved animals and would confront anyone who she felt was mistreating an animal. Jane loved family gatherings and enjoyed cooking and hosting holiday dinners at her home and her favorite treat was Handel’s ice cream.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, James of Youngstown; her daughter Kimberly of Cleveland; her twin sister, Carole Kojancic of Boulder, CO; her brother Richard “Dick” Rovnak of Poland, and many extended family members and many friends.
Janie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 4:45 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 4:45 p.m.
