Everett Schall Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Everett “Earl” Schall, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday morning, Sept. 5, 2018.

Everett was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Ray and Helen Essig Schall, and came to this area in 1964 as a young man.

In his early life, Earl was stationed in France while serving in the United States Army. He worked as a truck driver and owner/operator for Erskine Trucking, Coastal Tank Lines, and Anchor Motor Freight before his retirement in 1986.

Earl was a calm, quiet man with a good sense of humor. He was an amazing provider for his children and for his lifetime sweetheart, his wife, Mary, with the couple recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 30. He was always there for his two sons, Matt and Mark, and had a special place in his heart for his only daughter, Carrie. After his granddaughters were born, Earl lovingly and joyously attended many tea parties and fashion shows hosted by “his girls.”

Besides loving his family, friends, and neighbors, Earl’s other interests included tinkering with trucks, tractors, heavy equipment, and clocks. He frequently visited his pond on his property to feed his ducks and enjoy the sound of the trickling stream.

Mr. Schall leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary M. Bennett Schall; his daughter, Carrie (Tim) Shahan; and granddaughters, Mandie (Stephen) Christopher, Mindy, Krista, and Mattie Schall, and Sydney and Mary Shahan.

Earl’s family will deeply miss him and will love him forever. There will never be anyone that can replace “Papa Earl.”

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Matt (died Aug. 23, 2018) and Mark Schall, and a granddaughter, Melissa Schall.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at noon.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman, where Everett will be laid to rest next to his sons, Matt and Mark.
