Elsie J. Kun

YOUNGSTOWN - Elsie J. Kun, 94, of the city’s west side, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 22, 2023 at Assumption Village after a long and fulfilling life.

Elsie was born June 12, 1929, in Hubbard and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Hubbard High School and dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family.

Mrs. Kun was a member of the former Our Lady of Hungary Church.

Elsie is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn (Larry) Crawford of Howland and Mary (Bob) Yankle of North Lima; her son, Paul Kun of Canfield; her daughter-in-law, Lois Kun of Boardman; seven grandchildren, Larry Crawford, Elizabeth Crawford (BJ) Wolfgang, Joseph M. (Megan) Kun, Jeffrey Kun, Maggie Yankle Kennedy, Paul Kun and Zachary Kun; five great grandchildren, Layla, Joseph, Jonathan, Liam and Evan and many extended family members.

Elsie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her husband, Joseph S. Kun, Sr., whom she married May 20, 1950, passed away May 1, 2008.

Elsie’s son, Joseph S. Kun, Jr., also preceded her in death.

Per Elsie’s request, there are no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
