TAMPA, FLORIDA - Charles W. Lautner II, 62, passed away Thursday evening, March 28, 2024, at his home due to natural causes.
Charles, who was affectionately known as Chuck or Chuckie, was born October 7, 1961, a son of Charles W. Lautner Sr., and Audrey Boles Lautner and was born and raised on Youngstown’s west side.
He graduated from Chaney High School in 1979, where he excelled as a member of both the track and football teams. Charles continued his education at Baldwin Wallace College, where he further showcased his athletic talents as a member of the football team.
In the early 1980s, Charles relocated to St. Petersburg/Tampa, Florida, where he embarked on a career in the construction industry. He later joined Teledex Communications, where he dedicated his efforts for many years.
In his younger days, Chuck attended St. Brendan Church where he was Baptized, celebrated his first holy Communion, made his Confirmation and was married.
Charles found immense joy in coaching his daughter, Jenna, in soccer, and he was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, his greatest happiness came from spending quality time with his beloved family and friends.
Charles is survived by his wife of 22 years, Tara Sjoberg Lautner; his mother, Audrey Lautner of Poland; two daughters, Lauren (Nick) Green of Tennessee and Jenna Lautner of California; stepchildren, T.J. (Alisha) Powers and Jenny Powers Crea (Sam); two sisters, Karen Lambert of Youngstown and Carol Myers (Bob Gessler) of Poland; a brother, Daniel (Kathy) Lautner of Louisville, OH; four grandchildren, who were his heart and soul, River, Remi, Delilah and Scarlett and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Chuck will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
His father, Charles W. Lautner, Sr., and three sisters, Audrey Gray, Bonnie Little and infant Mary Lautner preceded Chuck in death.
Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at St. Brendan Church 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
