Catherine Rosser Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN - Catherine D. Rosser, 93, formerly of Winchester Avenue, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, after a long and fulfilling life.

Catherine was born July 19, 1930, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Grummel Vickers. Raised on the East Side of Youngstown, Catherine later moved to the West Side and was a 1948 graduate of Chaney High School.

Catherine dedicated many years of her life to working as a bookkeeper with the family business, United Interiors, starting in 1965. She remained with the company until her retirement. While she found fulfillment in her career, Catherine's true joy came from being a dedicated homemaker and caring for her beloved family.

A devout member of St. Brendan Church, Catherine was actively involved with the altar and rosary society, exemplifying her deep faith and commitment to her community. She found enjoyment in visiting casinos and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols. Most of all, Catherine treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren, whose presence brought immense joy and warmth to her life.

Catherine is survived by her three sons, Robert Lee Rosser of Austintown, Ronald B. Rosser of Youngstown and Keith R. (Linda) Rosser of Austintown; her daughter, Sherry K. (Doug) Estok of Austintown, with whom she recently made her home; four grandchildren, Shannon Frederick, Sherri (Dave) Fairbanks, Keith (Heather) Rosser Jr., and Lacey (Mike) Maiorana; eight great grandchildren, Ashlee (Ryan) Nicholson, Chloee Frederick, Drew and Lily Fairbanks, Hannah and Ryan Rosser, Sophia Modarelli and Bella Coulter; a great great granddaughter, Charli Nicholson; her lifelong best friend, Marilyn Carpenter of Canfield, and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Her husband of 53 years, Robert B. Rosser, whom she married June 25, 1949, died December 7, 2002.

Two brothers, Robert and Richard Vickers also preceded Catherine in death.
