NORTH LIMA - Carol A. Cantor, 82, formerly of the city’s South Side, passed away late Thursday morning, Dec. 17, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital from complications of COVID-19.
Carol was born May 18, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Ann Rasinya Hassey, and was a lifelong area resident.
She attended St. Matthias Elementary School and was a 1956 graduate of Wilson High School. She worked as waitress at Raver’s Restaurant in downtown Youngstown, and also at Morgan’s Restaurant. Carol also worked at McKenzie Muffler and was on the janitorial staff at Sexton Elementary School.
Carol was known as a fabulous cook and baker. She loved walking and being out in nature, and she enjoyed playing cards and traveling with family.
Carol leaves two brothers, John Hassey and David (Mary) Hassey, both of Boardman; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Robert Hassey, is deceased.
Because of the current pandemic, there will be no public calling hours or services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
