AUSTINTOWN - Carmand W. Wright Sr., 74, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 14, 2023, at his home following a brief illness.
Carmand was born November 5, 1947, in Pulaski, Virginia, a son of the late William and Maeokwa Wright and came to the Youngstown area as a child.
He was a graduate of The Rayen School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Carmand worked for NLMK Steel in Farrell, Pennsylvania for many years before he retired.
He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians (Guardians) and enjoyed riding his Harley. Most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
Carmand leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lisa Hobbs Wright; his four children, Carmand Wright Jr. of Austintown, Craig (Jonnie) Wright of Youngstown, Amy Rhodes (Tommy Cappitti Jr.) of Youngstown and Amanda Wojciak and her husband Matt Brown of Austintown; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Patsy Hedge of Pulaski, VA, Diane (Bill) Watson of Youngstown, Debbie (Ray) Devellin of Casa Grande, AZ and Tina Wright of Rocky Mount, NC., and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Carmand will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His first wife, Linda Genevish Wright, two brothers, Tom and Roger Wright and a sister, Patsy Hildack preceded Carmand in death.
Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will take place at 6 p.m.
