CANFIELD - Virginia L. Homick, 93, passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, October 15, 2024, at Hospice House.
Virginia was born December 11, 1930, in Youngstown, one of four children of the late Frank and Gertrude McCartny Ellis. She remained a lifelong resident of the area, where she devoted herself to her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Virginia will always be remembered as a kind, generous, and happy-go-lucky woman who was deeply compassionate toward animals and cherished her family and friends. Her warmth and vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
She leaves to forever cherish her memory her three children, Carol Holmes of Canfield, Lynn (Alan) Krut of California, and Mark Homick of Austintown; seven grandchildren, Luke, Kevin, Jason, Brian, Cassandra, Matthew and Belinda; six great-grandchildren, and many extended family members.
Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Edward J. Homick, whom she married on June 11, 1949. Edward passed away on July 23, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her four children, baby Edward Jr., Janice Homick, Scott Homick, and Tom Homick.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Virginia will be laid to rest beside her husband.
