NORTH LIMA - Vera V. Illes, 95, formerly of Bouquet Avenue on the city's west side, passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon, July 22, 2024, at Aventura at Assumption Village after a long and fulfilling life.

Vera was born March 12, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank Csipke and Vera Olah Csipke. She spent the majority of her life in the Youngstown area, where she built a loving home and created lasting memories.

A devoted member of Holy Apostles Parish in Youngstown and a member of the former Our Lady of Hungary Church, Vera's faith was an essential part of her life. She found joy in simple pleasures like playing bingo and trying her luck with the daily lottery.

She is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne (Paul) Ripple of Youngstown and Veronica (Richard) Harpman of Poland; a granddaughter, Jennifer Illes of Columbus and many extended family members.

Vera's warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Her husband of 54 years, Joseph L. Illes, whom she married September 9, 1950, died June 22, 2004.

Two brothers, Frank and Steve Csipke and a sister, Margaret Gabor also preceded Vera in death.

A private committal service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
