Tracy Coleen Elko

AUSTINTOWN – Tracy Coleen Elko, 57, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Saturday morning, Oct. 17, 2026, at her home.

Tracy was born May 28, 1969, in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles E. Winebold Jr. and Karen Crosbie Winebold, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1987 graduate of Western Reserve High School and attended the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, where she completed training in medical assisting and phlebotomy. Tracy held various positions throughout her career, most recently working for On Demand Occupational Medicine for 14 years.

Tracy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially taking motorcycle rides with her husband, working word search puzzles and searching for treasures at garage sales. She was involved in 4-H and looked forward to attending the Canfield Fair each year, especially visiting the goat barn, a tradition she always enjoyed.

Tracy had a genuinely caring nature and took a sincere interest in everyone she met. She was always willing to put the needs of others before her own and had a special way of making those around her feel loved and appreciated. Above all, Tracy cherished time spent with her family and the memories they made together. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity and the love she so freely shared with everyone who knew her.

Tracy is survived by her husband of 34 years, James P. Elko Sr., whom she married July 11, 1992; her mother, Karen Winebold of Austintown; her son, James P. “Jimmy” Elko Jr. of Austintown; her sister, Shelly Winebold DiFabio of Poland; her nieces and nephews, Brianna DiFabio, Arianna DiFabio, Julianna DiFabio, Mary (Larry) Melago, Michael, Robert T. Elko Jr. and Nicole; her brothers-in-law, Bob (Diane) Elko and John Elko; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family members.

Tracy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jennifer Elko; her father, Charles E. Winebold Jr.; her brothers-in-law, Bob DiFabio and Michael P. Elko; and her sister-in-law, Therese Elko.
