YOUNGSTOWN - Thomas J. Bier, 53, of the city's west side, died Friday, July 26, 2024, at his home.

Thomas, fondly known as Tom, was born  July 7, 1971, in Youngstown, the beloved son of James Bier and Brenda Cook Bier. A lifelong resident of the area, Tom graduated from Chaney High School, Class of 1989, and subsequently served in the United States Army during Desert Storm.

Tom worked at Astro Shapes in Struthers for several years.

Outside of work, Tom found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter, relishing the time spent in the great outdoors with his family. He also had a passion for computer games.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Bier of Girard; his mother, Brenda Bier of Cadiz, OH; his sister, Laura (Timothy) Liptak of Uniontown, OH; aunts, Sharon Bier and Debra (John) Bier; uncles, John L. Cook (Larainne) and James (Cheryl) Cook; several nieces and nephews and many extended family members.

His father, James Bier, is deceased.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m.
