YOUNGSTOWN - Thelma L. Greene, 86, passed away Thursday afternoon,  April 3, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Thelma was born May 17, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Jones Herbert. She was raised in New York and later moved to Cleveland in the early 1980s. Most recently, she made her home in Youngstown to be closer to her daughter.

A devoted mother, Thelma dedicated her life to raising her family and also held various jobs while living in New York. She was a proud graduate of New York City Technical College, where she earned an associate degree.

She was a graduate of New York City Technical College earning an associate's degree.

Thelma is survived by her nine children, Naomi Jones, Arthur Greene, Sidney Greene, Edgar Greene, Kevin Greene, Lynda Greene, Dorothy Greene, Jacob Greene and Evander Bey; as well as many grandchildren and extended family members.

Private family services were held at Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown. Funeral services and burial took place in New York.

Thelma will be remembered for her enduring love, strength and the legacy she leaves through her family.
