AUSTINTOWN - Suzanna Boyer, 86, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, May 16, 2019, at Greenbriar Health Care in Boardman.

Suzanna, known to all as "Sue," was born May 29, 1932, in Dubova, Czechoslovakia, and was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Kekelik Olejar. She came to America and Youngstown as a teenager in 1947 with her family, and graduated from Wilson High School in 1952.

After high school, Sue worked for Dollar Savings & Trust as a bookkeeper. She married her husband, Lamar, a career serviceman in the U.S. Navy, on July 18, 1959, and the newlyweds embarked on an adventure with the Navy beginning in 1960 that took them to Norfolk, Va.; Key West, Fla.; Rota, Spain; and to Charleston, S.C. The couple returned to Youngstown to make their it home in 1972, after Lamar's discharge from the service, and always looked back fondly upon the wonderful memories that were created during their journeys.

Sue worked as a billing clerk for Sylvania Distributing Companies after her return to Youngstown. She was also a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking (especially kolachi), and she loved to play the accordion for her family.

Mrs. Boyer was a member of St. Michael Orthodox Church in Youngstown.

Sue leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lynn (Rich) Morris of Oakwood; three grandsons, R.J., Eric, and Michael Morris; a sister, Ann (Steve) Kiddon of Austintown; a sister-in-law, Janet Olejar of Tacoma, Wash.; several dear nieces and dear nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Her husband, Lamar Andrew Boyer, passed away Feb. 2, 2015. A daughter, Gail Boyer Shesky; a brother, Dr. Michael Olejar; a sister, Mary Kurty, and Mary's husband, Joe, also preceded Sue in death.

Family and friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd. in Youngstown, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown.
