MEDINA - Stephen L. Sabo, 85, formerly of Austintown, passed away early Tuesday evening, Jan. 5, 2016, at his residence.

Steve was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of the late Steve and Helen Toth Sabo, and lived in Austintown until recently, when he moved to Medina to be closer to his daughter and her family.

He was a 1948 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, and served in the U.S. Army after graduation. Steve owned and operated Acme Exterminating Company in Youngstown for many years.

Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed visiting casinos, playing cards, and he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed attending their school and sporting events.

Mr. Sabo attended St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown. He was previously a member of the American Hungarian Reformed Church in Youngstown.

Steve's beloved wife of 56 years, Pauline M. Celovsky Sabo, whom he married May 11, 1957, passed away Nov. 21, 2013.

Mr. Sabo leaves  three children, Stephen J. (Marylou) Sabo of Westerville, Paula S. (John) Fyda of Medina, and William P. (Tanya) Sabo of Staunton, Va.; eight grandchildren, Kelly (J.D.), Lauren, Maggie, Jorden (Chad), P.J., Sara, John Paul, and Brendan; two great-grandchildren, Kohen and Charlie; several nieces and nephews, including Laura, Cathy, Linda, Fran, Nadine, Charlotte, Mark, and Rich; and his best friend, Larry, all who were very dear to him.

Besides his wife, an infant daughter, Sally Ann Sabo, and a brother, John Sabo, preceded him in death.

Family and friends may call from 10:30 to noon, Saturday, Jan. 9, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Funeral services will take place at 12:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with the Rev. Edward Noga officiating.

Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Steve will be laid to rest next to his wife.
