MINERAL RIDGE - Stephen Andrew Colburn, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Stephen was born July 18, 1935, at home, a son of the late Ann Marie Telago and Andrew Felix (Kolupaila) Colburn and was a lifelong area resident.

Stephen married Joan I. Adkins on February 2, 1974, at the Youngstown Baptist Church, where the Rev. Stocken officiated.

Stephen dedicated over 29 years of service to General Motors Lordstown before retiring in 1999. His commitment extended beyond his work, as he was actively involved in the UAW local organization, contributing to the well-being of his fellow workers.

In his free time, Stephen loved being outdoors, tending to his home and yard. His passion for model trains and airplanes was evident in the hours he spent building them, and he cherished the camaraderie of his amateur radio club. Stephen also enjoyed traveling, with his most cherished memory being a journey out west to Colorado by Amtrak to visit his son, Christopher.

Stephen will be greatly missed by his five sons, Stephen (Sandy) Colburn Jr., Francis (Neomi) Colburn, Christopher (Sue) Colburn, Brian (Lisa) Colburn and Benjamin (Tina) Colburn; his step-daughter, Joanne Ray (Morgan) Boylen; his adopted daughter, Abigail Colburn and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Woomer; his second wife, Joan; two sisters, Frances Colburn and Rose Colburn; and his stepdaughter, Yvette Adkins.

A private graveside service will be held at Kerr Cemetery in Mineral Ridge at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard.
