AUSTINTOWN – Stephen John Bokry, 34, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at his home.
Stephen was born October 4, 1990, in Youngstown, the beloved son of Heidi Shaffer Frankford and Steve Bokry. A lifelong resident of the Youngstown area, Stephen also cherished a decade spent in Florida, which brought its own special memories.
Stephen was a kind and gentle soul who brightened the lives of everyone he met. A member of the former Four Mile Run Christian Church, he found joy in community, creativity, and exploration. He attended Purple Cat, where he loved participating in activities, going on field trips, creating art with Rebecca, and making bracelets.
Stephen's love for music was a cornerstone of his life, with Toby Keith's country hits holding a special place in his heart. He also found joy in watching The Price Is Right, completing puzzles at the dining room table with his mom and dad, and enjoying meals at Das Dutch House, where his favorite hamburger always brought a smile to his face. Stephen delighted in exploring Sugar Creek, Ohio, and was a member of Axio Fitness in Canfield, where his workouts were made memorable by the support of Ryan and Laina.
Stephen's warmth and positivity will be remembered by all who knew him, especially his unforgettable laugh and smile.
He is survived by his devoted mom, Heidi, and his loving daddy, Bruce Frankford, with whom he made his home; his grandparents, Shirley and Myron Shaffer of Austintown; his Uncle Tim and Aunt Leilani Shaffer of Canfield; Uncle Dan and Aunt Lori Shaffer of Florida; Uncle Scott and Aunt Mary Shaffer of Berlin Center; Uncle Bud Shaffer of Austintown; his father, Steve (Trish) Bokry; his grandmother, Marie Bokry; his three sisters, Victoria (Jimmy) Gossett, Annabeth Bokry and Ena Bokry; many dear cousins and extended family members.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will take place at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Stephen's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Golden String, Inc. ATTN: Carla Santangelo 32 5th Ave. Youngstown, OH 44503.
Stephen's mom, Heidi, wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Purple Cat for their kindness, with special gratitude to John for getting him out of the car each morning. Deep appreciation also goes to Axio Fitness, especially Ryan and Laina, for making Stephen's workouts a highlight of his week, and to Grandma Jan and Louie Carr for their unwavering love and support. Lastly, a special acknowledgment to her husband, Bruce, for his unconditional love and dedication to Stephen.
Stephen's life was a testament to the joy found in everyday moments and the love shared among family and friends. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished and always loved.
