GIRARD - Stacy S. Melfi, 72, passed away peacefully, July 31, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Stacy was born Oct. 5, 1943, in Warren, a daughter of the late Alvin and Ann Hulvalchick Stesiak, and lived in the area for most of her life.

She was a 1961 graduate of Champion High School and devoted her adult life to raising and caring for her family.

Mrs. Melfi was a member of St. Rose Parish in Girard. She was very active at St. Rose School and also active in the Girard community.

A charismatic, joyful, and loving person, Stacy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially shopping with her daughter and two granddaughters, and taking day trips with her son.

Stacy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Joseph J. Melfi, whom she married Sept. 28, 1968; a son, Joseph M. Melfi; a daughter, Tali (Jeremy) Williams; two granddaughters, Kada and Kai Williams; two brothers, Ron (Joan) Stesiak and Patrick (Linda) Stesiak; a sister, Patricia (Dave) Downing; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and many close friends who were near and dear to her heart.

Stacy will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Per Mrs. Melfi's request, there were no calling hours, and private services were held.

Arrangements were entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard.

Stacy's family requests memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Rose School for tuition assistance; or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
