IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Silvia
Jadue
November 3, 1938 – September 6, 2024
AUSTINTOWN - Silvia Jadue, 85, passed into eternal life on September 6, 2024, to join her husband Moris Jadue. She passed peacefully surrounded by her sons and grandchildren at St. Elizabeth Hospital in downtown Youngstown. Silvia is survived by her four sons, Omar (Pam) Jadue, Mauro Jadue, George Jadue, and Moris (Rich) Jadue; her adoring nine grandchildren, AnnaMaria, Michael, Joseph, Elizabeth, Nicolas, Kayla, Lucian, Adriana, and Sasha; her great-granddaughter, Sophia and her many nieces and nephews who considered her a second mom.
Silvia was born on November 3, 1938, in Santiago, Chile, a daughter of the late Sabas and Faride Chahuan, and was a graduate of the Universidad de Santiago. Silvia then met her husband, Moris Jadue whom she married in 1965. Silvia and Moris called Youngstown home after emigrating from Chile to ensure a better life for their children. They became members of St. Mark Orthodox Church where the congregation and various friends became their new family.
Silvia had to navigate many turbulent events in her life such as moving to a new country, surviving the sudden passing of her husband in 1975, and raising four young boys on her own. As a woman of strong moral character and stronger will, she raised her sons in the same manner. Much of her strength came from being an Orthodox Palestinian Christian descendant from Bayt Jala, Palestine. She repeatedly stated that her proudest achievement is knowing that her four sons are well educated and productive members of their community.
Regardless of where she was or with whom, she always left her mark. She worked for over 20 years at a frozen food store serving the community of Youngstown's east side. Silvia regularly attended the YMCA, loved playing cards, and most importantly, she knew all the local bingo halls and schedules. Wherever she was, Silvia was beloved.
Silvia possessed an amazing wit and a heart that loved unconditionally. Her most enduring trait was her genuine nature that made people gravitate toward her. She cooked delicious meals that never quite tasted the same the next time she made them. She could carry a conversation in five different languages complete with expletives. Driving with her was like being in a Public Service Announcement for seatbelts. Every life she crossed was better for it, and she will be profoundly missed.
Besides her husband, Silvia was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Katrina Jadue, George's wife.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Those in attendance are asked to wear bright colors to honor Silvia's memory.
Interment will take place at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown.
In lieu of flowers, Silvia's family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer's Association via https://act.alz.org or to the Palestinian Children Relief Fund via https://www.pcrf.net .
