With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful mother and Grammy, Shirley A. Edwards, 79, who passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Shirley was born on February 26, 1945, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Anthony and Anne Hnatiw Fusco, and was a lifelong area resident. She attended Chaney High School and worked at various establishments throughout the area. Most recently, Shirley worked at Cracker Barrel in Austintown for over 18 years before retiring in 2013.

Shirley was a free spirit who loved to travel anywhere and anytime. She had a fondness for the thrill of the casino, but her greatest love was her family, to whom she gave selflessly every single day.

Shirley is survived by her devoted daughters, Pamela A. Edwards and Toni M. Edwards, both of Austintown; her two grandsons and protectors, Eric Edwards and Caleb Edwards; her brother, Robert (Rita) Fusco of Poland; sisters-in-law, Helen Fusco, Judy (George) Gregg, and Carol (Donald) Bogar; and many nieces and nephews whom she held dear to her heart.

She was preceded in death and welcomed with loving arms by her husband, Eddie Edwards, her parents, her big brother, Tony Fusco, and her baby sister, Cecilia.

Shirley's vibrant spirit and boundless love will be missed by all who knew her.

Per Shirley's request there will be no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
