BOARDMAN - Shannon M. Greenwalt, 35, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Shannon was born August 7, 1989, in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Rebecca Merwin Greenwalt and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Chaney High School and worked at Jay's Hot Dogs in Boardman for many years. Most recently, he was employed at Giannios Candies in Struthers.

Shannon enjoyed spending time with family, watching wrestling, and was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Shannon is survived by his parents, Michael and Rebecca Greenwalt of Boardman; siblings, Mechelle (Paul) Malahtaris of Austintown, Michael (Megan) Greenwalt of Youngstown and Christina Greenwalt of Boardman; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Becca, Savannah, Marisa, Michael III and Mira; his grandmother, Joann Rogers of Cortland and many extended family members.

Shannon will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A sister, Hope Dale is deceased.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the funeral home, with a gathering beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
