BOARDMAN - Roberta A. "Bobbie" Chalky, 71, passed away early Monday morning, June 10, 2024, at Briarfield at Ashley Circle following complications from a stroke.
Roberta was born May 2, 1953, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Robert B. Snyder and Frances Jesik Snyder and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a1971 graduate of Boardman High School and in her earlier years, Bobbie worked as an optical technician. Bobbie also held various other jobs while dedicating her life to raising and caring for her beloved family.
She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman and passionately participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for many years. Her community involvement extended to volunteering with Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and the Gold Wing Road Runners Association. Bobbie found joy in cooking, arts and crafts, gardening, and engaging in political activities.
Bobbie leaves to forever cherish her memory her husband of 47 years, William R. "Bill" Chalky; her two sons, Jon W. (Melissa) Chalky of Canfield and Jason M. Chalky (Tiffany) of McDonald; five grandchildren, Mason, Jason, Zoe, Zophie and Luis; two sisters, Frances (George) Cvetkovich of Washington and Patricia (Bob) Bartok of Cleveland and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Bobbie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love.
Two brothers, George Snyder and Bill Snyder and a sister, Aggie McCormick preceded Bobbie in death.
Family and friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
Private interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown.
