YOUNGSTOWN - Robert Lopez Cotto, 89, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, April 20, 2019, at Omni Manor after a long and fulfilling life.

Robert was born July 24, 1929, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Felix Lopez, Sr. and Carmen Cotto.

He was a 1955 graduate of the National Radio Institute earning a certificate in electronics.

Robert was employed in New York City for a printing firm. He married Adela Sanchez Del Jesus on Sept. 10, 1955, and was happily married until her death.

Robert moved to Youngstown from the Bronx, New York, and was a resident of Youngstown since 1987.

Robert will be greatly missed by his son Robert (Lynn) Lopez, Jr., of Queens, New York; three sisters, Mercedes Vasquez, of Downey, California, Juanita Alamo Youngstown, and Filomena Fonseca of Youngstown; and two brothers, Felix Lopez, Jr. of Poland and Lucas (Nancy) Vega of Struthers.

His beloved wife, Adela Sanchez Del Jesus, passed away June 21, 1981. A daughter, Janet Lopez, passed away on Valentine's Day in 1991. Three brothers, Angel Lopez Cotto, Rafael Lopez Cotto, and Francisco Lopez Cotto, and a sister, Felicita Perez, also preceded him in death.

Per Robert's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will take place at St. Raymond Cemetery in the Bronx at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
