IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert J.
Burosky
July 1, 1933 – May 28, 2025
YOUNGSTOWN - Robert J. Burosky, 91, of Youngstown's West Side, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, May 28, 2025, at Hampton Woods, with his family by his side.
Robert was born July 1, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of the late Andrew and Catherine Kurta Burosky and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1951 graduate of Chaney High School, Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, stationed in Germany. He returned home with a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility that guided him throughout his life.
Bob began his career at Youngstown Sheet and Tube's Campbell Works in 1956 and worked there until the mill's closure in 1979. He then spent time at Reliable Source of Metal Work before finding his most meaningful and rewarding work at Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown, where he served as a funeral director assistant for 22 years. It was the role he loved most — offering quiet support, steady hands, and heartfelt compassion to grieving families. He retired in 2020.
Bob regularly attended services at the Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, where he could be found each Saturday evening greeting parishioners as an usher for the 5:30 p.m. Mass.
He enjoyed working in his yard, spending time with family and friends, and cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren's games and school events. Bob was happiest surrounded by loved ones — a steady, kind presence with a gentle sense of humor and an unwavering devotion to those he cared about.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alice D. Schultz Burosky, whom he married June 30, 1962; his three children, Francine (Ross) Horn of Petersburg, Robert J. (Nicole) Burosky II of Struthers and Laurie (Blase) Brush of Austintown; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Katherine Kirwan and Anna Maria Schwager; and his brother, Francis Burosky.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Bob's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ohio Living Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Rd. Bldg. E, Suite 201, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
