ANDOVER - Rita M. Martin, 70, formerly of Girard, passed away early Friday morning, Dec. 11, 2020, at Andover Village following a lengthy illness.

Rita was born Nov. 14, 1950, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph R. and Jennie Ann DePinto Funge, and lived in the area for most of her life.

She was a 1969 graduate of Girard High School and briefly worked for EASCO Aluminum in Girard.

She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was a person who enjoyed good food. Rita also enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo, visiting casinos, and visits with her "granddogs," Mason and Bayleigh.

Rita was of the Catholic faith.

Rita leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lori Ann (John) Slimmer of Ashtabula; three siblings, Joni (Daniel) Geralsky of Hubbard, Louis (Martha) Funge of Girard, and Maryann Babbit of Malabar, Fla.; and three nieces, Michelle Bartholomew, Sherrilynn Lucas, and Renee Harlow.

Family and friends may call from noon to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. If paying respects to the family, please follow all current health protocols and guidelines, including the wearing of masks. To those who cannot attend, or are uncomfortable doing so, please remember Rita and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Interment will follow the funeral home service and will be at Girard Liberty Union Cemetery.
