YOUNGSTOWN — Richard A. Spellman, 67, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at Omni Manor.

Richard was born Sept. 17, 1957, in Youngstown, a son of the late Richard C. Spellman and Laura Grobosky Spellman, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1976 graduate of Canfield High School and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.

Richard worked as an appliance specialist for various retailers throughout his career, most recently at Home Depot.

He enjoyed attending the Hot Rod Nationals and the Canfield Fair, especially the demolition derby, and most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gayla P. Brobst, whom he married Sept. 13, 1997; two stepchildren; and six grandchildren, Carly (James) Thompson, Cora Piper, Paul Campbell, Chloe Campbell, Robert Prater and Brady Prater.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
